Color Therapy
Color Therapy is a type of Alternative medicine and therapy. Color Therapy, also known as chromotherapy intertwines with chakras, which are also associated with primary elements (Earth, Wind, Fire and Air). It’s amazing how colors effect our emotions making us happy, sad, they inspire, make us nervous and can even make us angry. As an example, when I was doing outside sales for a company, I was told not to wear the color red because people have the tendency to find it threatening and can turn people off, which is something you do not want to do when making a sales call, right?
Since colors effect a lot about the way we work, it makes sense that eating and drinking foods and drinks of a certain color would have an effect on our moods. This is because it benefits balancing energy. Our physical and energetic bodies are believed to receive and store solar light which mantains an internal balance. As light is released from our cells in our body, an imbalance is “formed” with these colors, manifesting itself as an illness. Kind of sounds strange, but makes a lot of sense, don’t you think?
Since color therapy is associated with chakras and each chakra has a color associated with it, along with an emotion, I thought I’d share:
Red: Vitality, Courage, and self -confidence (different than what my sales class said, hugh?)
Orange: Happiness and resourcefulness
Yellow: Clarity and wisdom
Green: Love, self control and wisdom
Blue: Health, decisevness and knowledge
Indago: Understanding and intuition
Violet: Beauty and Inspiration ( and is this fall’s big fashion color!)
Eating foods of certain colors, drinking beverages of certain colors, wearing a cetain color jewel, burning colored candels and hanging colorful prisms can effect our moods and emotions. There are many people who are trying this new form of therapy and I can’t see why if you’re unhappy, you wouldn’t wear orange!
