The Foot Pad Detoxification

These foot patches were a fad about 3 years ago.  They are still around, but you don’t hear of them as much anymore.  So do they work?  What do they do?  How are they supposed to help  Through my research of these patches, I have seen negative and positive feedback from users, being reflexologists and general consumers.  These foot patches are supposed to be detoxifiers that are placed on your feet while you’re sleeping or for a period of about eight to ten hours.  These patches contain all natural ingredients and no artificial chemicals.  On a daily basis, we ingest, or intake chemicals such as smoke, air pollution and toxins in metals and chemicals in foods we eat.  These patches draw these toxins out of the body.   How, do you ask, does a patch remove these toxins through the skin?  Well, the patch contains a mixture of wood vingear which is infared and minus ion emissions, is believed to stimulate the meridians, resulting in breaking down in the ymphatic and circuloatory systems, allowing blood to flow freely and therfore, eliminating waste.  This idea is based on a Chinese concept where the body has about 360 acupuncture points, where 60 or more are located on the foot.  If you look at a reflexology chart, you see that the foot is a map and connects with our internal organs and are a hot spot for toxins to collect hence the reason they can be excreted so quickly.

These patches are obviously beneficial to the detoxification of your body, but they are also used to aid the improving of blood circulation, the elimination of waste and helps with the movement of lymphatic fluids.  It seems that there are some good benefits to using these detox foot pads, but they do have a few critics and skeptics.  It can be hard to believe that metals can be extrected through our skin.  It goes against everything we learned back in school about the science of our body and pores, etc.  But there are some that praise these small detoxifiers and say that they feel healthier becuase they use them….

I think I’m going to try these out and blog about then afterwards to let you know what I think.

Thanks,

Tiffany
